V. AI & Autonomous Processing
Use of Generative AI (Google Gemini)
Simso uses artificial intelligence, specifically the Google Gemini API, to process receipts, invoices, and provide contextual accounting advice.
Data Processed by AI
When you upload a document or ask the AI Advisor a question, the text content of that document or query is sent to our AI provider (Google Cloud Platform). This processing is strictly for:
- Extracting data (OCR) from receipts and invoices.
- Categorizing transactions.
- Generating accounting suggestions.
Data Privacy in AI: We have configured our AI providers such that your data is not used to train their public models. Your financial data remains confidential and is processed in transient memory for the purpose of the request.
VI. Banking & Finance Data
To provide "Handsfree Accounting," Simso connects to your bank accounts via Open Banking APIs (PSD2 compliant).
Open Banking Providers
We use regulated third-party providers (such as Plaid, TrueLayer, or GoCardless) to securely access your banking data. Simso has read-only access to your transaction history. We cannot initiate payments without your explicit consent and authentication.
Storage of Financial Data
Your transaction data is stored encrypted in our databases. We store this data for as long as you maintain an account with us, or as required by tax laws (e.g., 6-10 years for audit purposes).
